The day starts starts at a local landmark with beautiful water views for an introduction and morning safety brief.
The safety brief will include a brief discussion on trip planning and preparation.
After morning tea we will take a leisurely stroll into the day base camp. During the walk, your group
leaders will identify bushtucker and explain the natural environment. All walkers will have an
opportunity to safely and ethically harvest natural resources for survival school activities.
When we arrive at the day base camp, survival school commences and includes:
- Selecting a site for a shelter
- Improvising an emergency shelter
- Making cordage (string/rope)
- Finding and purifying water
- Bushtucker and bush medicine
- Traps and snares
What do you need?
All activities coordinated under the direct supervision of an experienced and qualified outdoor instructor.
However, you will need to bring:
- Personal water bottle
- Closed comfortable shoes
- Hat and sunscreen
- Personal medication
- Warm jacket
- Spray/rain jacket if you have one
- Food for the day
